30 years in ministry - 20 years leading First Baptist Church Woodstock, where 16,000 members call him Pastor. First Baptist Church Woodstock is known around the world for its energy, enthusiasm and support for living and sharing the gospel. It is known as a ministry on which the sun never sets.

Simultaneously leading, for the last 14 years the Timothy Barnabas Ministry, where thousands of other Pastors and Church Leaders call him friend and mentor.

Johnny received his education at Gardner Webb University where he received a B.A. Degree in 1979. He graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (M. Div.) in 1981. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Immanuel Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Sacred Laws and Letters from Covington Theological Seminary. A Chair of Church Growth was established in his name at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1997.

Dr. Hunt pastored three churches in North Carolina before coming to First Baptist, Woodstock, Georgia.

Johnny is married to his wife Janet and they have two daughters and three grandchildren
